Misitano&Stracuzzi travels to the Stock Exchange
he Sicilian brand of citrus essences aims at listing by summer
Misitano & Stracuzzi, one of the most important brands in Italy in the citrus essences sector, aims to be listed on the Stock Exchange at Piazza Affari. The landing on the Stock Exchange (by Intermonte) should take place by the summer on Euronext Growth Milan (EGM), a segment dedicated to SMEs with high growth potential. This is what Il Sole 24 Ore writes, explaining that about 20% of the capital is expected to be placed on the market: the first official step, according to sources close to the dossier, will be made soon, also according to market trends. The company today employs 81 people: it closed 2023 with a 59 million Euro turnover, up 42% compared to 41.5 million Euro in 2022, while net income 2023 was just over 7 million Euro, a nice leap forward compared to 2022 when it stood at 2 million Euro. 63% of the total turnover in 2023 comes from customers outside the EU: export, not surprisingly, affects turnover by 94%.
Misitano & Stracuzzi has been active since 1922 in the transformation of citrus fruits and in the production of essences and juices of lemon and orange. Currently it has two factories in the province of Messina: one is in Santa Teresa di Riva, in the province of Messina, where essential oils are produced. The other plant is in Furci Siculo, also in the province of Messina, where citrus juices are produced. In 2016, to consolidate its presence in the American market, Misitano & Stracuzzi Usa Corp. was established in New York, wholly owned by the Italian parent company.
Our goal -explains Dario Stracuzzi, ceo of the group together with the brothers and managing director of the Stucchi management- is to keep the property and the family guide firm but looking to the future. The opening-up of the capital market has this meaning: and it is all the more so in terms of development. We are already present in the United States with our subsidiary and now we are starting to increase our production capacity with two new plants in the industrial area of Giammoro, in the province of Messina where we have planned to invest about 20 million Euro".
The company celebrated 100 years in 2022, the year in which the brothers Antonio, Emanuela and Diego Stracuzzi, the fifth generation of the family, carried out an extraordinary operation of extreme importance: 52.9% of the capital held by the Misitano family was purchased by Stracuzzi holding company in which the remaining shares in the hands of natural persons are agreed. The operation has led to the total control of the Stracuzzi Holding and, through this, to the control of the Misitano&Stracuzzi spa.
